Our Cuban Food and Cuisine!
Cuban food, or Cuban cuisine, has as much energy as the music in the lively bar. Café Laguardia is THE place to go for great Cuban food, as authentic as you will get this side of Cuba. The House Specialty is Paella Valencia, a traditional dish of moist and savory yellow rice cooked with an assortment of shrimp, clams, fish fillet, chicken, ham and pork. Made to order for 2 people, it's fabulous.
Have a hearty appetite or are visiting Cafe Laguardia for the first time and do not care for fish? Not a problem – we have the perfect dish for you: The Taste of Cuba (Sabor de Cuba!)!!! A hearty plate containing many popular items found on the island such as shredded beef, ground beef, pork medallions, green plantains, sweet plantains, ham croquette, boiled cassava and your choice of rice and beans.
Or try the Maui Pineapple Pork dish (pictured) with some succulent pineapple, mixing in with the pork, and rice and beans. Lovely.

. . . . . . . . . . ~~ . . . . . . . . . .
There are many Cuban dishes to try – as well as Tex-Mex and our vegetarian dishes – so you will not be disappointed at Laguardia. The choices under the "Dinner" headings
of Pork, Beef, Chicken and Seafood are varied. Consider the Sabor de Cuba, or Taste of Cuba. There is
not one weak link in our Cuban food menu that consists of incredibly flavored medallions of fried pork,
ground and shredded beef, ham croquette, fried plantain, rice, cassava, and black bean soup.
Cuban cooks have a way with pork and an even more creative hand when onions are added into the mix to present the roast pork dish. The added dimension is the way the onions are cooked to the almost-sweet stage, a flavor that is hard to describe.
A substantial and savory dish is the Sandwich de Ropa Vieja, a flank steak seasoned and cooked until it shreds almost on it's own. The chicken fricasee will give chicken lovers a good alternative, while our seafood choices drift pleasantly in the direction of shrimp, snapper and squid with the rice and squid jubilee or the fried red snapper fillet. Tex-Mex dishes are also covered with torta, burritosto match any in the city – including the Burrito Caliente – and tacos.
To end the meal, we have home-style desserts such as flan decorated with chocolate swirls and whipped cream, island pineapple and coconut sorbets, rice pudding and tartufo rolled in Praline nuts covered with powdered cocoa.
You'll love our Cuban food!
